Will there be a second season of Hullraisers?

Currently, Hullraisers hasn’t been officially renewed for a second season, but when it returns viewers can most likely expect to see all of the main cast again.

Creators Beaumont, Anne-Maire O’Connor (Trollied) and Caroline Moran (Raised by Wolves) are keen on continuing to tell the stories via relatable female characters and keeping Hull at the forefront.

Speaking to Channel 4, Beaumont said: “I’m really proud of it [the series] because I feel like everyone was on the same page with the class thing.

“There are a lot of production companies that are very London-centric. We see very little authentic portrayal of the working class, especially in comedy, I had so little to relate to and that annoyed me.”

O’Connor said it was important to balance authenticity and representation.

“It’s okay to be ambitious, but representation on television is really important to me, especially for working-class people coming through the industry,” she said.

“If these stories are authentic, it resonates with the audience. To see something like Hull portrayed truthfully is like the Holy Grail, especially in comedy.”

What did Hullraisers fans say?

Audiences have taken to social media to express their love for the show in hopes it will return for a second season.

“That can not be. There MUST be another series of Hullraisers! I’ve never laughed so much!” one fan tweeted.

“I’ve read it all, but Hullraisers is one of the best new comedies I’ve ever seen! I hope it comes back for a second season.”

While another tagged creators Lucy and Caroline to thank them: “Dear Lucy and Caroline, how can I and we ever thank you enough for the last six weeks of fun in Hull, it’s been a blast. Can we please see more Toni, Rana and Paula and have a second series on Channel 4? Thank you to all cast members
