Arizona @ Washington State

Current record: Arizona 1-9; Washington State 5-5

What to know

The Washington State Cougars are winning 3-1 against the Arizona Wildcats since October 2015, and they will have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Washington State and Arizona will go head-to-head in the Pac-12 battle at 9 p.m. ET at Clarence D. Martin Stadium. Both teams lost their last match, so they’ll have plenty of incentive to get ‘W.’

All were trailing 14-14 at halftime, but the Cougars weren’t quite on par with the Oregon Ducks in the second half when they met this past Saturday. Washington State fell to Oregon 38-24. Washington State’s defeat came despite a quality match from WR Travell Harris, who caught eight passes for a TD and 109 yards.

Meanwhile, Arizona came up against the Utah Utes last Saturday, with a score of 38-29. A silver pad for the Wildcats is the game of QB Will Plummer, who passed a TD and 223 yards in 33 attempts in addition to plunging into a TD and 50 yards. Plummer had some trouble finding a foothold against the California Golden Bears two weeks ago, so this is a step in the right direction.

The jaguar is the favorite in this matchup, with an expected win rate of 15.5 points. Those burned by picking them up over the spread this past Saturday may want to note that the team has yet to drop head-to-head games by the spread this season.

The losses put Washington State at 5-5 and Arizona with a score of 1-9. Some stats to note: Washington State is 240th worst nationally for interceptions thrown, with 13 throws during the season. The Wildcats went through some of their own struggles as they stumbled on the 249th most interceptions game nationally, with 16 interceptions during the season. Maybe one of these Achilles heels will get in the way of the losing team.
