What to know
Get ready for a battle with the Pac-12 when the California Golden Bears and UCLA Bruins go head to head at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Both teams are entering their competition after big wins in their previous matches.
After constant hardships along the way, California has finally found some success away from home. They were the clear winners with a 41-11 scoreline against the Stanford Cardinals. The game ended only at the end of the third round, at which point the Golden Bears established a 27-3 advantage. RB Marcel Dancy and RB Christopher Brown Jr. was one of the main players for California as the former puncher made two hasty touchdowns and the latter picked up 131 yards of the ground in 13 executions in addition to claiming a received TD. Dancy put himself in the spotlight with a 76-yard TD challenge in the third inning. Dancy’s stellar performance established his single-game high of the season.
Meanwhile, UCLA took on USC Trojan last week with an overall score of 62-33. It’s been another big night for UCLA’s QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who passed four TDs and 349 yards in 22 attempts along with diving twice TD and 46 yards. Thompson-Robinson’s 58-yard touchdown for RB Kazmeir Allen in the second quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
California is expected to lose the next score of 6.5. However, those who prefer to bet on the underdog should be delighted to know that they are leading 2-0 when expected to lose.
Their victory overcame the Golden Bears with a score of 4-6 and the Bruins with a score of 7-4. With both California and UCLA bursting with impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team will teach the other some humility.
