What to know
The Atlanta Falcons will return home from a two-game journey. They will face the New England Patriots at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. New England should still be feeling good after a win, while the Falcons will look to regain their footing.
Atlanta took a serious hit against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, losing 43-3. Atlanta is in a difficult position in the first half, with the score being 36-3. QB Matt Ryan had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: aside from not being able to make a single touch, he threw two interceptions with a pass completion rate of just 42.86%.
Meanwhile, New England ran around the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and the larger portion of the field (452 yards versus 217 yards) paid off. New England overcame Cleveland with a score of 45-7 at home. The oddsmakers sided with the Patriots, but they failed to provide enough credence to the squad because of the unexpectedly wide margin. They rely on the efforts of RB Rhamondre Stevenson, the person dashes in two attempts TD and 100 yards over 20 attempts, and WR Kendrick Bourne, who caught four passes for a TD and 98 yards. This is the first time Stevenson has reached more than 100 quick yards in an entire year. Stevenson’s stellar performance also set his single-game high of the season.
The Falcons are currently at 4-5 while New England sit at 6-4. Two defensive stats to watch: Atlanta is tripping up the game with the second most touchdowns allowed in the game NFL, dropped 29 in the season. The New England defense had more to brag about, as they entered the game with the second-leastest rush of touches allowed in the league at five.
