How to Walk with Pokemon in Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl

In order for a Pokemon to come out of their Pokeball to walk with them in the Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl, the player needs to:

• Play until Hearthome City
• Go to the Northwest or Northeast gate in the city.
• Enter to get to Amity Square Gate.
• Walk towards the NPC behind the desk to activate the dialog.
• Go into the park and enjoy.
• Leave the park and talk to the NPC to unlock the Walk Together feature.

After unlocking Walk Together, players can drop Pokemon from their Pokeballs by:

• Press X to open the menu
• Open the Pokemon menu
• Selection any Pokemon
• Select “Walk Together”

After following the above steps, the selected Pokemon will appear in the game and accompany their trainer. Note that Walk Together does not work inside buildings or in the Grand Underground.

Unfortunately, there are some limitations to this feature in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The most notable (apart from error) is a Pokemon that doesn’t scale.
