How to use the strange key in Magnum Opus

This guide will help players use the Exotic Key in Destiny 2’s Magnum Opus quest and get one step closer to obtaining the Sage.

Players who want to acquire exotic weapon equipment Forerunner in Fate 2 must complete a quest called Magnum Opus. Near the end of this mission, fans will be instructed to use the Unusual Key, which they obtained in the previous step, to open a path to a mysterious object. For players who are not clear on how to use the Exotic Key in Fate 2, details can be found in this manual.

Destiny 2: Exotic Key Used (Magnum Opus)

The first step to using the Strange Key is to go to Xur’s Treasure on Eternity. Once Fate 2 player loaded into this area, they should use the portal to go to the Valley and then go forward and slightly to the right. After a short walk, the player will encounter a group of strange rocks, they are located at the bottom of a small slope, and this is where the Exotic Key is used.

More specifically, one of the rocks has a small rectangular object protruding from the top, and this is indeed the formation that the player needs to interact with. However, it can be quite difficult to use the Strange Key at this rock, as fans have to approach it from a very specific angle. The easiest way to prove that angle is with a video and the following clip will help the player to be able to move on to the next part of Fate 2predecessor mission.

Regarding the next part, FPS fans should now follow a waypoint to cross the Valley, cross a narrow path and enter a cave. Inside this cave, the player will encounter a jumping puzzle that has several orbs floating and eventually leads to a Cryo Pod containing the Anomalous Object related to the Magnum Opus quest. While it’s pretty straightforward to get through this part of the platform, the aforementioned video illustrates the path to the container that needs to be hijacked.

With the Anomalous Object in hand, players can now talk to Banshee and receive Forerunner’s strangely equipped weapon. From there, fans might want to go after some of the weapons that were added to the game with the 30th Anniversary Pack. Among those weapons are Fate 2Gjallarhorn’s strange rocket launcher, grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies using non-exotic rocket launchers in its latest iteration, which most fans will likely be excited about.
