How to Unlock Extreme Trials in Final Fantasy XIV’s Endwalker

Final Fantasy XIVThe latest expansion of Endwalker is bringing a ton of content including a new story, new dungeons, testing and no shortage of that content for every type of player.

The most competitive players will want to complete Savage, Extreme, and Unreal content. But for now, the new 6.0 patch only introduces two Extreme tests to beat and farms for rewards. To test Savage content, players will have to wait until January next year.

Here’s how to unlock those Extreme trials, The Fall of the Zodiark, and the Call of Hydaelyn.

How to Unlock the Harsh Trial in Endwalker

The process of unlocking Extreme trials on Endwalker no different from previous expansions. You’ll have to talk to Wandering’s Minstrel in Old Sharlayan, at X: 12.6, Y: 14.2.

You will need to reach level 90 and complete Endwalker Main Scenario Quests to unlock Wandering Minstrel quests. Simply talk to him, tell about your adventure and listen to his song to unlock both missions.

Both quests will appear in the Advanced Quests tab of the menu, but you may not be able to do them outright as they will require an average item level of 560 to participate.

While this isn’t currently the maximum item tier available in the game, you may not be able to loot all the necessary gear by just progressing on the Main Scenario Quests.

You will be able to claim the iLvl 560 battleship gear by talking to Merchant Varsarudh in the main square. You’ll also loot some iLvl 560 accessories in the 90 “The Dead End” dungeons, but you may need to run it multiple times to get them all. Enter them with Trusts to be able to loot every item, instead of with other players.

You can also spend your precious Tomestones of Aphorism on iLvl 570 accessories at Radz-at-Han. Unfortunately, they cannot be purchased in the Market Board, so there won’t be any other way around this.
