How to Turn Captive Hoopa into Unbound Hoopa (and Back) in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go’s The most recent piece of content, Season of Mischief, is coming to an end with one final event known as Mischief Unbound.

During the event, players can complete a new Special Research story that will unlock the ability to unleash the true power of the mythical Pokémon Hoopa. This is done through the use of a special item, the Prison Bottle, which frees Hoopa from his Captive Form and allows it to become Hoopa Unbound.

To unlock Hoopa Unbound, the player first needs to meet and befriend Hoopa by completing The Naughty Special Study Naughty Lasted for a Season The story begins earlier this year. Completing that Special Research is the only method to obtain Hoopa Confined, required for the process.

If you’re unable to complete the Naughty Naughty Special Study by the end of the season on December 1 at 9:59 a.m. local time, you can still purchase the new Non-binding Naughty Special Study through the $4.99 ticket by that same deadline.

This new Special Research will also help you gather many of the resources needed to really help Hoopa reach its full potential as it is quite expensive to transform naughty Pokémon.

In total, transferring Hoopa’s form from Hoopa Confined to Hoopa Unbound will cost 50 Hoopa Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

And, don’t worry, you can also convert Hoopa back into Restricted form from Unbound. Returning will only cost 10 Hoopa Candy and 2,000 Stardust, but these resources must be used every time a change occurs.
