How to scan cache

The main collection type in Solar ash are different clothes that the player can get for the main character, a space explorer named Rei. However, these suits require a few steps to unlock, most notably finding the caches that contain their pieces.
Though it’s always worth exploring every nook and cranny in Solar ash, the player can do a number of actions to narrow down where the Caches are hidden. From talking to Cyd at the center point of each area to knowing where to spot hints, people certainly have several tools to make their search easier.
How to get Cyd to scan cache
After receiving a signal of a more stable area, the player can interact with Cyd at a central point in any location for some useful services. In addition to the ability to help players change clothes and load shields, Cyd can also scan caches.
However, keep in mind that this will not give you the exact location of any Cache; Cyd will only tell you how much is left in the area. For example, if you have 2 suit pieces left to find, Cyd will say so. After collecting all the pieces of the suit in an area, the player can return to Cyd to change.
What to look for when searching the cache
Blue icon on the wall
The mark of the Voidrunners, the group of space explorers to which Rei and Cyd belong, is a light blue circular icon with a dot inside. This icon can be found leading to all cached areas. So players should keep an eye on it on trees, walls, cliffs, etc.
Vertical blue light beam
The body of the Cache is a purple shell that will have a blue light beam shooting out from its top. These beams can be seen from a great distance, so look for them whenever up high.
Edges, nooks and crannies, etc
In the open world of Solar ash, players have more freedom to explore. The game developers give an incentive to investigate areas by placing Caches in locations that are quite hidden from the main target. One thing to watch out for is that the black patches are climbable, as they can allow the player to extend walls and ledges to areas not visible from most angles.
Speaking of being out of sight, Caches also like to stay in nooks and crannies. If one spots a narrow passage that doesn’t seem to lead anywhere, be sure to check it out, as there may be a Cache inside. They can be located in ruined cities or out in the wilderness of the destroyed planet, so be on the lookout for them.
In heavily urbanized places, Caches can also sometimes be found on top of buildings. While hunting for collectibles, you might be wiser to go up on tall structures to see if there’s a Cache there. Moreover, such high areas can be very good for detecting remote Caches as well as other points of interest.
Solar ash available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Playstation 5.
