How to play Windtrace Rerun in Genshin Impact 2.4 with your friends

Windtrace multiplayer event is back The Genshin effect 2.4 for a fresh rerun, this is how you can create a “private room” to play with friends instead of random players.

What is Windtrace? The Genshin effect?

Windtrace is a Hide and Seek Event you can participate in The Genshin effect with four players. Three players play as the Rebel in need of hiding, while one player is the Hunter. Each player has specific Skills to hide or localize the others. You can choose and change your Skills at the beginning of each round.

According to legend, Windtrace was a social game based on the uprising of commoners against nobles in the history of Mondstadt.

When does Windtrace rerun start in The Genshin effect 2.4?

Windtrace will launch on January 13, 2022, 10am Server Time. If you’re on a North American server, that’s 10am EST. The event will end on January 27 at 03:59 a.m. Server Time.

How to play Windtrace with your friends

To play with friends, you need to first join their World or ask them to join you. Open the main menu, go to the Co-Op Mode menu, then change your World Permissions to Join After Approval. Now wait for your friends to join or join their own World.

Note that if you can’t access the Co-Op Mode menu, it means you have an ongoing Quest that you need to complete first. The game will tell you which Mission it is when trying to access the menu.

If you start Windtrace without being in the same World as your friends, auto-match will activate and you will only be able to play against random players.

Once your three friends and yourself are in the same World, you can start playing Windtrace by talking to an NPC named Gygax right near the Teleport Point in Mondstadt. Please note that only players above Rank 20 of Adventurer can access Windtrace.
