How to play Close Encounters LTM in Fortnite Chapter 3, season 1

v19.20 update for Fortnite was released recently, and The Foundation quest isn’t the only new addition to the game.

Players hanging out in the lobby may have stumbled across a new tab called Close Target Encounters Bounty. This tab features a series of challenges that can only be completed in Close Encounters, a limited time mode (LTM).

While the game mode itself sounds easy enough and the challenges look simple enough, figuring out how you can get started playing this game mode can be harder than it looks.

How to play Close Encounters in Fortnite Chapter three, part one

At the time of writing, Close Encounters LTM is not available in Fortnite. However, considering the missions are in the works, the game mode will be available soon. Once there, players will be able to try out the new game mode through the Explore Tab in the Main Menu.

Click Close Encounter on the Explore tab and tap Play to start queuing for the game mode. As the name implies, expect plenty of melee combat in Close Encounters. Previous iterations of the casual feature game mode Fortnite map, but the safe zone begins to collapse significantly earlier at a faster rate. The player can only use handguns in game mode along with jet packs, and the most recent iteration of the game mode may have similar characteristics.

With a faster circle, players will have less time to loot, meaning they will need to focus more on winning skirmishes to get to the end of the game.
