One of the most fun parts of Eurovision is choosing your favorite song.

In that precious moment, dreams can be made or broken, with hundreds of millions of people across Europe submitting their votes.
But how do you vote? How long is the line open?
Here’s everything you need to know.

There are different ways for people in the UK to vote for their favorite Eurovision performances.
The most common way is to vote by phone.
Each participating country will be allocated a number corresponding to their order in the programme.
For example, the first performer will be given code 01.
The public then uses the code of the country they want to vote in front of the long phone number.

You can also download the Eurovision app to make the process a little easier.
Using the app will give you a shortcut to the mobile number.
Phone lines can often be busy during voting – if you hear a dialing code you can try again because your vote won’t be registered until you hear a recorded message.
Can the UK vote by text?
Written voting for Eurovision is not currently available in the UK.
The BBC details: “Writing voting cannot be included in the Eurovision Song Contest vote in the UK due to the relatively short period of time within which voting is open and within which results need to be provided and Verification.
“There is a risk of potential delays in mobile networks at busy times, which could result in the failure to receive a written vote while voting is open. With a phone call, if the exchange is busy you will hear the engagement tone, however with text/SMS you won’t know if any votes were sent late or not (causing a delay) votes are not registered). ”
You also cannot vote through the BBC Eurovision website or by email.
