To create these bricks, the player must first collect clay bricks. Clay balls drop from clay blocks, and these balls spawn underwater in swamps, beaches, oceans, and at the bottom of rivers and lakes. These clay blocks are often used to create terracotta, one of the better building blocks in Minecraft.
Clay blocks can also be broken down with any tool and will yield 4 clay balls. These can then be taken to a kiln and melted into the bricks needed for this recipe. Putting three bricks on the crafting table will highlight the flower pot recipe.

For players who want to skip crafting and just collect examples of this item, flower pots will naturally spawn in a few places.
