How to make coffee in Spiritfarer – FandomSpot

Coffee is a stimulant made by boiling coffee beans in the kitchen.

Once prepared you can give it to the ghost Gwen as it is her favorite drink. Aside from her, other spirits on the boat will appreciate getting coffee every now and then.

But before that, you need to plant some coffee seeds in the field first to grow coffee beans. These beans are then placed in the oven to prepare the drink.

Structure of the kitchen

You can build more than one kitchen in the game / Spiritfarer
You can build more than one kitchen in the game.

Let’s start with the simpler building: the kitchen.

One of the earliest buildings you’re tasked with in the game, the kitchen is first introduced via the request “I get cranky when I’m hungry” from Gwen.

Luckily, it should unlock automatically once you get the free Albert’s Shipyard Beginner Blueprint Station (X:61, Y:64).

However, the construction is not and requires these materials:

  • 5 Maple protocols
  • 8 bright jellies

If you’ve just started playing the game, you shouldn’t have any trouble looking for these materials. Maple logs are obtained naturally from the felling of maple trees at Mosstein Cove, Berkensheim Creek and Greenhalten Bay.

Just walk next to the tree and interact with it to cut it down.

In the meantime, you can get light jelly from the mini-game that Gwen introduces you to. Since the first stage is at X: 80, Y: 92, this is the first mini-game you run.

Once you start the event, the ship will get darker and jellyfish will start floating from the right side of the ship. Catch as many as you can before the timer runs out and you should be good.

The green jellyfish yield Bright Jelly, while the yellow ones only yield Glims, the game’s currency.

With that, you should be able to get all the materials and build the kitchen in no time. From here you can interact with the oven and choose an ingredient to cook with.

Note: Alternatively, you can upgrade the kitchen at some point to increase its capacity to two ingredients. Our guide to upgrading the kitchen goes into more detail on this topic.

Get coffee beans and build up the field

The next step is to buy some coffee seeds.

In the Raccoon Inc. / Spiritfarer shops you can buy seeds and other materials of all kinds
In Raccoon Inc. stores you can buy seeds and other materials of all kinds.

Almost all of the seeds found in the game can be purchased from one of the many Racoon Inc. stores that can be found throughout the map, including the coffee beans.

In this case you have to go to one of them Hummingberg (X: 39, Y: 139) or Bottom Line Corp. (X: 137, Y: 51).

If you have just started playing then we recommend going with Hummingberg as the Bottom Line Corp. cannot be achieved without boat upgrades.

Once you arrive and find the Racoon Inc. store, you can purchase Coffee Bean Seeds for 75 Glims each. You can also buy other seeds here in case you have extra Glims and want to stock up.

Apart from that, you can also find Coffee Bean Seeds from random crates floating in the water.

After that, go back to your boat and build yourself a field. Lucky for you, the field unlocks with the novice blueprint station, so you shouldn’t have a problem creating one.

As for the materials, the field requires:

  • 15 Maple logs
  • 3 limestones

Since we already know earlier where to get the maple logs, let’s take a quick look at where you can get limestones.

How to mine nodes.

If you’re still early in the game, we recommend visiting the nodes at Mosstein Cove (X:78, Y:130) or Iwashima Countryside (X:164, Y:16).

Simply mine the nodes found here to get the Limestones. Just make sure the “axe” doesn’t turn red or it will explode and make you start the mining process again.

After getting the materials, proceed to build the field on your boat. Next, interact with one of the lots inside to plant the coffee bean seeds.

As the seeds grow, you’ll need to water them every now and then when the water drop logo appears.

Aside from watering, you can also grow plants by playing guitar/spiritfarer
Aside from watering, you can also make plants grow by playing the guitar.

Alternatively, you can speed up the process by holding down the action button to start playing the guitar.

The more notes you get right, the faster the plant will grow.

Once they are fully grown, harvest them to get your coffee beans!

prepare your coffee

The coffee preparation takes only a few seconds.

From here, all you have to do is put the coffee beans in the kitchen oven and wait for the timer (it should only take a few seconds) to start making coffee.

Just make sure you don’t leave the coffee for long periods of time as this will result in burnt food.

You can then give this coffee to Gwen to boost her spirits or to other spirits on the boat who will like it.
