Minecraft 1.17 introduced Candles as a new light source for the first half of the Hang & Cliffs update – here’s how you can make them.
Now, with the second half of Caves & Cliffs slated for release on November 30, it’s time to prepare to dig deeper into the darker and more dangerous parts of the game.
From upgrading your torch to setting up extinguishable lighting in your home, Candles will be an especially useful (and aesthetically pleasing!) item in the new update. This is how you can craft and use Candles in Minecraft!
HOW TO SOFT AND USE CANDLES IN THE CANDLE MINECRAFT
Thankfully, Candles are pretty easy to craft. Using just a piece of Chain and a piece of Honeycomb, you can create a full-blown Candle.
These items are considered light sources, acting similarly to sea pickles. They individually emit light level 3; however, up to 4 identical candles can be placed in a single block for a brightness level of 12. Candles can be stacked in an inventory of up to 64 items.
In addition, you can craft Dye Candles using different Dyes in the game. Just put the Candle and a piece of Dye in the crafting menu and you will get your desired colorful variation. There are up to 16 variations for a full rainbow of Dye Candles.
To light them you must use Flint and Steel, Fire Charge or any fire related ammo. However, Flint and Steel will probably be your best bet, to avoid accidentally burning anything else. Candles can be extinguished by right clicking or using water.
It is important to note that Candles can become waterlogged, but cannot light when waterlogged. Although you maybe put a single candle on a leftover cake for cute Minecraft birthday cake!
That’s all for candle crafting! Check back with DualShockers for more details on all the new features included in the new update. And now, Minecraft Update 1.18 is coming November 30 for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
