It’s been a big year for the Pokemon series, celebrating its 25th anniversary. Fans have seen so many events on the internet, different games like Pokemon GO, as well as the hugely popular card game have revealed special sets that are selling like hot cakes. As part of this year’s celebration, The Pokemon Company also revealed two new games that fans can expect two games to include. Unique core game Pokemon Legend: Arceus.
Although Arceus won’t launch until January 2022, as part of silver jubilee, Nintendo is taking fans back to the Sinnoh region with remakes Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls. While the games themselves are celebrating their 15th Anniversary, these new titles feature an entirely new visual style, while retaining the things fans remember from Nintendo DS releases like the old sayings. story and core game loop.
As a result, longtime players will likely remember the beats of the big story and the hidden secrets that newer players have. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls may be missed. One such place is Iron Island, a location completely optional but players will absolutely want to investigate. Here’s how to find the little island and the secrets it holds.
How to visit Iron Island
Located off the West Coast of the Sinnoh Region, Iron Island is a small, ore-rich area that players can visit when they arrive in Canalave City. While players will naturally approach Canale City takes on Gym Leader Byron, they don’t really have to wait until then.
You can enter Canale City as soon as HM version of Surf is unlocked. To use Surf outside of battle, the player needs to defeat Fantina at Hearthstone City’s gym. At this point, head to Jubilife City and walk to the left side of the city and use the surf to continue west.
Upon arrival at Canalave City, the player should head to the southeast area of the city to find a sailor standing on a wooden dock near a boat. Talk to sailors to get a prompt asking if they want to go to Iron Island and choose whether to take them there.
What to find on Iron Island?
The island itself is quite small and unassuming compared to some of the other locations in the game. The distinguishing feature of this island is the large cave that not only has all kinds of Pokemon to catch, but Team Galactic has to grumble to fight. Players can encounter TMs like Iron Tail as well as many useful items from Full Restores, Ultra Balls, and more.
Exploring the cave system will eventually lead to a Friendly NPC called Riley, who side with the player to help wipe out Team Galactic’s intrusion. Not only does Riley heal the player’s party after each battle, but normal Pokemon battles turn into doubles and multiplayer.
When the faction is wiped out, Riley will give an egg to the player, which will eventually hatch into Riolu. It’s worth noting that players will want to make sure they have an open squad slot, as the egg will need to match the active team. If there are no seats left, players will need to return to Canalave City to deposit and then return to Riley, who will still be waiting. This is the only way to find a Riolu inside Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls and considering how valuable Lucario is against the Elite Four, this detour is definitely one worth taking.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls now available on Nintendo Switch.
A recent Genshin Impact leak revealed that a crossbow could be added as a new weapon could be added in the near future.
