How to get the Flag minion in Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV offers plenty of customization options, including minions. Those little creatures follow your character everywhere and create a variety of interactions.

Endwalker introduced more minions to the game, including Chess. In the true spirit of the Festival, this little reindeer is a small reindeer with a green bell around its neck and it can accompany you throughout the journey.

How to get Flag minions in FFXIV

There are two ways to unlock the Flag: you can buy it on the market board or earn it yourself. It’s locked behind Ventures, journeys you can send your underlings to. They will earn XP and will give you random items when they return.

Flag minions can be earned by sending your subordinates to Field Exploration XXVI. To enable this option, your subordinates must have a gathering job and be at least level 81, with the corresponding equipment.

Buying a Flag minion is the simplest method, but since the minion was only recently introduced, it can end up being quite expensive (at least three million gil) for a while. But its price will drop in the coming months as more players become available.

If you haven’t unlocked your attributes, they are important to save space in your inventory. You can have up to two subordinates and they can hold 175 items each. Talk to the troubled Adventurer in one of Eorzea’s main cities to complete the quest “A Delusion Sick Adventure” to unlock them. You will need to spend adventure coins to make them level up and bring you items, but your level should match their level. For example, if you don’t have any gathering jobs at level 81, you won’t be able to have subordinates reach that level.
