How to get Glintstone Key to unlock Raya Lucaria Academy in Elden Ring

Elden Ring is the latest game from FromSoftware, directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Although this is an open world game, Elden Ring there are Legacy Dungeons, huge dungeons similar to those found in Dark souls series. Raya Lucaria Academy will be the second Legacy Dungeon that most players will come across during their adventure as a Punisher. However, it is locked and you will need the Glintstone Key to open its portal.

How to get Glintstone Key to open Raya Lucaria Academy’s barrier

There are actually two Glintstone Keys that you can find in Elden Ringbut the second one can only be obtained after you have defeated a certain boss inside Raya Lucaria Academy itself.

The main location of the first Glintstone

The first key is located in the Liurna of the Lakes region, the same region as Raya Lucaria Academy and where you reach after clearing Stormveil Castle. You will find the key on an island located to the west of the Academy. See the red dot on the map screenshot below.

The first Glintstone Key location will be guarded by a boss, Glintstone Dragon Smarag. You can actually skip the dragon and just loot the key if you can’t defeat it.

Where is the second Glintstone key?

The second Glintstone key can be looted from a corpse in the ceiling of Cuckoo Cathedral. But first, to be able to access this area, you need to defeat the boss Red Wolf of Radagon, located inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria dungeon.

The corpse will lie on one of the chandeliers. Once you have this second key, you’ll be able to give it to Thops, an NPC merchant at the Irith Church. Thops sells spells, but if you give him the key, he will walk away. So if you play a spell based character, be sure to buy his spells before giving him the key.
