How to find a GO gym trainer on a Pokemon GO tour, Johto

Pokemon GO Tour Johto has a lot of elements and one of them is the introduction of people called GO Gym Trainers.

Gym Leaders have been an essential part of the core Pokemon series over the years, but the version of Gyms in Pokemon GO were pretty basic so the teams could take over them.

For the GO Tour Johto event, however, Niantic is trying something a little different with a variation of the previous feature with the addition of GO Gym Trainers of the day.

What is a GO Gym Trainer?

Just like we saw in last year’s GO Tour Kanto and even with other variations like Fashion Challenge before, GO Gym Trainers are special in-game trainers for Pokemon GO based on real-world coaches.

These trainers are selected from a variety of coaches submitted by players based on their teams, but what makes them special is that they are themed by the eight Johto region gym leaders from Gold and Silver Pokemon.

Each GO Gym trainer will have three Pokemon based on the list of three Pokemon each selected trainer has submitted.

How to find a gym coach in GO Tour Johto

While GO Gym Trainers are a bit different from the trainers we saw in GO Tour Kanto, they can be found the same way.

While going around catching Pokemon in GO Tour Johto, keep an eye out for any PokeStops around you, as any of them may contain one of GO Gym’s Trainers.

Just like with a member of Team GO Rocket, spin a PokeStop to send you into battle with three Pokemon kept there by GO Gym Trainers.
