How to find a drip cave in Minecraft 1.18

After many months of waiting, Minecraft’s The much-anticipated 1.18 update, also known as Caves and Cliffs Part II, has finally arrived. The update includes a ton of new caves to explore, including Drip Cave.

Maybe you’re desperate to jump in Minecraft 1.18 and locate Dripstone Cave, but there are a few things you need to know in advance. So this is where you can find Dripstone Caves and what exactly are inside them.

What is a drip ice cave? Minecraft?

So how do you know when you’ve located a Dripstone cave? Well, the cave will be filled with both Drip block of ice and Drip stones with sharp tips. These are brown masses in small clusters around the cave.

If a source of water or lava is placed above a Pointed Drip Stone, small drops of water or lava will drip down the block and onto the floor. Place a Cauldron underneath to collect the drops.

As well as these brown blocks, players will also likely find small pockets of water around the cave, another useful way to indicate you’re in the Dripstone Cave.

Also no exclusive mobs can spawn inside Dripstone Cave, unless the cave is well lit you will find regular Zombies, Spiders, Skeletons and Creepers spawning around you.

How to find a drip cave in Minecraft?

Unfortunately, there is no specific way to locate Dripstone Cave. However, there are some important things to know when looking.

Out of all the new caves included in 1.18, Dripstone Cave will be one of the most popular spawns in your world. While underground, pressing F3 brings up a large page of stats, on the left side of the page there is a small line of text with the title ‘Biome’.

Use this tool while underground to find out about the Cave Biome you are in, if you are inside the Dripstone Cave the text will say “Biome: minecraft: dripstone_caves”.

Dripstone Caves only spawn underground but at any height, so you don’t have to go deep underground to find one.

Are there any other new caves Minecraft 1.18?

Yes, a total of 3 new Cave Biomes were included in the Caves and Great Cliffs update. After updating to version 1.18 of Minecraft, the player will find Dripstone Cave, Lush Cave and Noise Cave.

Caves generate randomly in your world, but if you’re playing in a world that was first generated at 1.17 or lower, you’ll need to explore new areas to discover the dungeons new cave community.
