How to evolve Helioptile into Heliolisk in Pokémon Go

Helioptile will make it Pokémon Go launched during the new Power Plant event, meaning players will have another species to capture and evolve if they want to update their Pokédex.

The Electric/Normal Type from Kalos will be found more often during the Power Plant event, which runs from January 19 to February 1. And during that time, get the resources needed to evolve the Machine Flying your helicopter into a Helicopter will also be easier.

Normally, to evolve Helioptile into Heliolisk, the player only needs to use the Sun Stone. Because of Pokémon Go using different methods to evolve, this particular change will require both Sunstones and 50 Helicopter Candies.

Because Helioptile is the focus of the Power Plant event, it is likely that Niantic will include Helioptile Candy and Sun Stone as part of an event-specific Time and Field Study in some form. That doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed, but that’s usually how developers handle the introduction of new Pokémon.

If that doesn’t happen, you can use Pinap Berries while Helioptile is set as your buddy Pokémon to increase the amount of Candy you get per milestone. Additionally, you’ll be able to collect enough Helicopter Candies by catching the Pokémon multiple times during the Power Plant event.

For Sunstones, there’s currently no surefire method to get one, but if you don’t have one saved, you can get them as a drop to spin a PokéStop.
