How to enter and leave the Grand Underground

Once you’ve unlocked the Grand Underground by getting the Explorer’s Kit, go to your bag and go to the Main Items tab. From there, select the option to use the item. It will ask you how you want to go to the Grand Underground. You can choose to connect locally, to play alone, or to connect over the internet.

There are several ways to play over the internet if you want to. You can be matched with a random group if you simply select Yes in the online menu, or you can join with a group or with an Affiliate Code.

After you have dug enough mines and caught all the Pokémon that appear in the room, press Y and then select “Go Up”. The game will ask you if you want to return to the surface from where you entered. Select Yes, and you’ll be taken back to the exact spot you were in when you entered the Grand Underground.
