Buying a house in Skyrim or real estate in Tennessee can be a great asset, though there are often tasks to complete before players can go about purchasing one.
Skyrim has mystified players for more than ten years. Part of its success can be attributed to the shear number of things players are able to do in-game. One of the important experiences that people can have is buying one of the many houses across Skyrim‘s large map. The house in Skyrim differ in size and price, and some can only be purchased by completing missions.
The homes are available in Skyrim are in some of the most unique locations of The Elder Scrolls franchise. From Riften to Solitude, player housing give people the ability to shape their Skyrim experiences in unique and powerful ways.
How to Buy a House in Skyrim
The ‘first’ house that players can purchase in Skyrim is in Whiterun. The home is called Breezehome, and players can purchase it after they have successfully killed the dragon that appears at the watchtower outside the city. From there, they need to talk to the Steward of Whiterun to purchase Breezehome. The house costs 5,000 gold and is the cheapest home that players can buy. Other homes, like those in Markarth and Solitude, have simpler quests that involve the jarls. In Solitude, players need only do a small quest in order to purchase the house from the steward, but the fee is a hefty 25,000 gold. These places are worth the price, though; homes allow players to have families, rest, creating new things, and store some of Skyrim‘s weapons and armor.
The home in Skyrim need to be refurbished once they are bought. The more expensive homes have better options for renovation, but they too are pricey. These additions can include kitchens, alchemy rooms, bedrooms, and storage areas. Players can use homes to gather and display many items as well, from weapons to armor to gold from across Skyrim. Homes can also serve as places to send companions and for other NPC’s to find players.
Of course, players can also build their own homes using the Hearthfire addition. These homes are also expensive and can take a while to complete, but they are much more unique. These places can also be attacked by wild animals, bandits, and some of Skyrim‘s dangerous Necromancers. No matter what homes players choose to live in, though, players will find that the housing options in Skyrim allow the game to feel more personal and magical. When the next installment of the franchise is released, fans can only hope that the housing system will be just as good or even better.
