You can quickly break an alliance by declaring war on your ally.
Alternatively, the alliance is also terminated by divorce or the dissolution of engagements. Or you could murder characters from those marriages as a last resort to end the alliance as well.
Method 1: Declaring war on your allies
This is often the quickest way to break an alliance.
Whenever you declare war on an ally, your alliance with them will be broken and you will lose prestige and glory.
This method can be inconvenient since you actually have to fight in a war. You can optionally start the war and immediately surrender to end it, although it costs gold and prestige.
You can also opt for a small war if it is available to you, e.g. B. raiding prisoners if your religion has human sacrifices.
Method 2: Confederate Marriage Divorce
Most alliances in the game are formed through marriage bonds.
Usually an heir or sibling is married to a family member from another realm.
If you still have the option to force a divorce or break off an engagement, this is the easiest method.
However, not all players have the opportunity to divorce. They need a religion that allows for divorce.
If your marriage to your spouse has created an alliance, it is easier to divorce in person than to force your heirs to divorce.
Method 3: Assassination of confederate spouses
Of course, if the other methods don’t work for you, you can always kill one of the spouses involved in the alliance.
Ideally, this should be the ally’s family member. But you can also murder your own heirs to achieve the same result.
Be careful when murdering your family as it often comes with stiffer penalties if caught.
