But this fall brings an unusually competitive series of adaptations, many of which are written by their directors and fueled by the kind of star power that few screenwriters have ever claimed. It is up to the Academy voters to decide. For now, we can have fun and talk about all of them.
This week Little Golden Men audio files, David Canfield, Rebecca Ford, Richard Lawson, and Katey Rich dive into both the adaptation and the original script race, both of which are shaping up so nicely that late shows like Aaron Sorkin‘NS Being a Ricardian and Adam McKay‘NS Don’t look up final screening. But a history-friendly category for eccentrics with no other nominations could also be a springboard for underdogs like Zola and Green Knight.
Elsewhere in the program, the group discussed initial reactions to Being a Ricardian and AFI with great success debuted Mark, mark… Boom!, King Richard, and Swan Song.
