As she’s continued to utterly dominate the game since Rio, Simone Biles has used her leotards to “hit again on the haters.”
Biles made headlines when she started competing with a diamond-encrusted goat on her leotards, alluding to the truth that many name her the “G.O.A.T” (Best Of All Time) in gymnastics.
“I simply hope that children rising up watching this do not or aren’t ashamed of being good at no matter they do,” she instructed Marie Claire in June. “I would like youngsters to be taught that, sure, it is OK to acknowledge that you simply’re good and even nice at one thing.”
However this Olympics has seen new controversy over leotards. Germany’s gymnastics workforce is sporting full bodysuits in protest of the sexualization of the game.
The protest first started in April when German gymnast Sarah Voss wore a bodysuit on the European Inventive Gymnastic Championships.
“Each time you do not really feel protected it is distracting you from what you need to carry out,” Voss instructed the BBC on the time. “I feel that feeling protected and never fascinated about what different folks can or can not see is sort of relieving when you possibly can compete like that.”
On Sunday, Voss and her teammates all wore bodysuits whereas competing within the gymnastics trials.
