Mike Myers is no stranger to playing multiple roles in a cinematic universe — just look at it Austin’s Power Franchising. But for his latest project, the Netflix series The PentaverateThe comedian elevates his game by acting eight different versions of himself.
Here’s our most accurate take on what’s going on in the new series trailer: All tied to a secret guild called The Pentaverate, Mike Myers, Mike Myers, Mike Myers, and Mike Myers. Mike Myers invites a newcomer to join their next mission. That newcomer happens to be Mike Myers (obviously), playing a humble Canadian journalist looking to crack a Watergate scandal about the secret society. Current members of the Myers squad include a high-ranking warlord, an Australian media mogul, a former member of Putin’s tycoon, and Alice Cooper’s former manager. Quite a bizarre collection of men.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to have great number of going on in this trailer. Beyond the phallic neon lights, Illuminati questions and classic Myers jokes (“What is Dubrovnik? Is that a fallacy for being probed in your hole?”), it’s hard. to catch a breath in two minutes failed.
However, the journalist continues his mission to make Pentaverate the most influential society in the world, obviously because the future of humanity is at stake. Also, doesn’t this have anything related to the rest of the trailer, but according to Mike Myers, not only are the Illuminati a real team, but Jay-Z and Beyoncé are the tag-carrying members.
“That’s what Lemonade talk about!” Keegan’s character-Michael Key yelled.
The Pentaverate also stars Ken Jeong, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders and Lydia West. The series was created by Myers and inspired a bit from his 1993 dark romantic comedy. So I married an Ax killer.
The Pentaverate has a quintet theme: will premiere on Netflix on May 5 (May 5). But a little stop there, because there six all episodes. Can’t go with the theme and cut it down to five, guys?
