How it works and why you should use it – FandomSpot

Battle Chain refers to gameplay mechanics where chaining monster encounters together for a short period of time gives you greater rewards from each battle.
Winning multiple matches in a row will increase the Series level. The higher the level, the more benefits.
These benefits include increased EXP and SP per battle, as well as better loot and rewards.
Unlock Chain Mechanics

The Battle Chain mechanic is very easy to unlock, as it is part of the natural progression of the main story.
Upon first entering the Trasilda Highway in Elde Menancia, a cutscene will begin to play, introducing the required side quest, Rough Refresh.
For this side quest you just click through the dialogue and defeat some monsters in some easy battles the game will start for you.
Upon completion of this side quest, the Battle Chain system becomes available.
How to use Battle Chain

In short, whenever you complete a battle, a small amount of Battle Points will be added to the Battle Chain.
All you have to do to raise the Battle Chain is continuously engage in as many wars as possible in the shortest amount of time. You’ll be able to see your Series level numerically in the little diamond just below the minimap (pictured above).
When your chain reaches level 5, the center number will disappear and the diamond will glow blue.
Note: The Battle Chain stat will deplete over time. Therefore, it is important to find new enemy encounters as quickly as possible. When you reach level 5, it will run out faster.
Besides raising the level by fighting in regular battles, there are several other ways to increase the Battle Chain.

As soon as the Battle Chain system is acquired, certain merchants will start selling Bottle of happiness. This item increases your chain by at least two levels, and tossing two of them will take you to level 5 in a flash.
You should always have at least two or three of these Happiness Bottles on hand.
Another method involves a rare monster hunting spot. When you’re out in the field, you’ll sometimes come across ordinary-looking monsters, distinguished by their brilliant golden light. Going into a fight and killing these gilded creatures will also greatly increase your Battle Chain by about three levels.

Benefits of Higher Battle Chain

Firstly, keeping a high chain is useful to increase levels, artes and abilities. Because upgrading the chain will increase the amount of EXP and SP gained at the end of each battle.
As a result, it becomes significantly easier to grow stronger in a shorter amount of time if you maintain the battle sequence at level 5 for as long as possible.
And as mentioned earlier, another benefit is that it can increase the amount of loot you will get at the end of the battle. Gald is pretty hard to come by in Tales of Arise compared to other JRPGs, so you’ll want every battle to be as engaging as possible.
Note: These benefits also apply to bosses, so be sure to bring two Bottles of Happiness to prepare before hitting the boss, assuming you haven’t encountered a level 5 battle sequence.
A great place to make full use of the battle chain mechanics that appear right after first unlocking them.
It is located in the Autelina Palace after the group’s second visit as part of the main story line.

In this dungeon, there were Menancia Armored Swordsmen practically falling on top of each other, making it very easy to keep the Battle Chain going.
Not only do they give good EXP and SP after reaching a level 5 Battle Chain, but they also drop a Silver Dog Card that sells for 800 Gald each.
To ensure that there is always a fresh supply of these friends, quickly drop into one of the many side rooms and come back again to revive a new series of them.
This is an early chance to get the most out of the Battle Chain system and prepare yourself to leave the third realm with the most expensive gear available and a stockpile of supplies.
Note: This farming strategy is only available for the duration of this dungeon so make sure you get everything you want from these enemies before fighting the boss, because once you By doing so, these enemies will be gone forever.
How to Maintain a Continuity (Things to Avoid)

There are several ways to reset your battle sequence, causing you to start over at level 0.
Of course, the first way is simply to time out between battles, where the meter runs out before finding another encounter. This is a level 5 specific problem because you are using a much shorter timer.
From level 2 to 4, the combat stats will decrease one level at a time as it is depleted. For levels 1 and 5, when it is exhausted it will reset to 0 and you will have to start over.
Another thing to avoid is rested.
Spending the night by a campfire or at an inn, while good for your health, certainly isn’t so great for the flow of battle. Rest will reset your streak to 0, so make sure to only do that when you’ve finished reaping the rewards of your current Chain.
Also, don’t run away from battle if you can help.
Running away won’t completely kill the chain, but it will reduce it by about a level.
And one last tip:
Moving between zones does not reset the battle sequence as long as you do so walking. If you use fast travel, even if it reaches a nearby location, it will break the Battle Chain. So feel free to walk out of an area and quickly return to revive encounters with enemies, just don’t reset the area by fast moving.
