Highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases since April, DHEC reports 714 cases on Wednesday

Colombia, South Carolina – The growing number of Covid-19 cases in South Carolina continues as the DHEC reported the highest number of days since April.

On Wednesday, DHEC will release its latest Covid-19 report.

According to the report, South Carolina added 714 new Covid-19 cases. There are 462 confirmed cases and 252 possible cases.

Potential events are considered as confirmed cases by physicians, and the only difference between confirmed and probable cases is the type of test each person receives.

In addition, four other confirmed deaths and six suspected deaths were reported.

The DHEC said that “delays in reporting the death of a person in this pandemic are often related to the exact classification of deaths.”

The daily numbers were declining for weeks until the beginning of July, when the number of cases increased again.

Health officials are not worried, as the latest numbers are much lower than the winter numbers, but urge everyone to be vaccinated as soon as possible.

Although the number of new cases varies from state to state, cases of Covid-19 are on the rise across the country. Health officials say the reason for the recent outbreak is the delta variant, which is highly contagious and the level of vaccination.

Health officials are also urging all residents to be vaccinated against the virus.
