Earlier this year, gaming writer Hideo Kojima announced a podcast, and his brief appearance at Gamescom reveals that a new one is coming very soon.
Hideo Kojima has been a major player in the gaming industry for more than three and a half decades. With pt recently celebrated its 8th anniversary, both he and the fanbase remembered this short horror title and the loss of what would have been something new silent Hill Game. However, this is just one of many endeavors the video game author has been involved in, and a recent video of the man himself has revealed his next project.
At this year’s Gamescom, the founder of Kojima Productions made a brief appearance to announce that a new podcast will be coming to Spotify next month. In the one-minute clip, the Japanese director said fans will be able to watch his program starting September 8th. He goes on to say that the show will be available in both Japanese and English to reach those outside of his home country as well. There will also be guest appearances from people from “different fields,” suggesting it’s going to be a lot more than just a gaming podcast.
Hideo Kojima actually announced a podcast titled back in February “Radioverse,” in which he and guests discussed games, movies, and other topics. However, this new one will be titled Brain Structure and not much is known about what it will contain. Kojima says that, along with guests, Gamescom host Geoff Keighley will have a regular segment dedicated to entertainment news in each episode.
The man behind people like Metallic fear solid and death stranding is known for his rather outlandish ideas as well as for his depth in storytelling. Due to his extensive career, he has greatly influenced the video game industry. In fact, earlier this year, the Japanese government gave Hideo Kojima a Fine Arts Award, specifically for his work on the Director’s Cut of death stranding. From the committee’s statements, it appears that they viewed the game, or at least this iteration of it, as having remarkable “dynamic interactions.”
Hideo Kojima was just one industry personality to appear on the Opening Night Live show for Gamescom 2022. Alongside a series of game announcements, there were also appearances from the likes of Gearbox Software co-founder Randy Pitchford, who was there to talk about it New stories from the Borderlands. There was also an interview with The Callisto Protocol Director Glen Schofield.
Brain Structure launches September 8th exclusively on Spotify.
