India vs New Zealand two match test series will start from 25th November onwards with Kanpur test. Regular captain of India Virat kohli will not appear in the inaugural game when he has been rested. Meanwhile, the first mate Ajinkya Rahane will lead the faction in his absence and Cheteshwar Pujara was appointed as his deputy.
Notably, Ajinkya Rahane has not been in the best form when the number of his players has continuously decreased since the past few years. One of India’s most reliable smashers in foreign conditions, Rahane has averaged just over 19 out of 11 Tests.
However, Pujara assisted his teammates ahead of the home series against the recent World Test Championship winners. During his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Che Pu said:
“Rahane is a great player. There are times when a player goes through these stages. He only has one inning to get back into rhythm. He’s going to get good runs in this series. ”
Pujara sheds light on her batting performance
Cheteshwar Pujara has also been surrounded with a number of questions about his dip batting performance and approach to scoring. But right-handed people always bounce back from the bottom.
“I contributed with 50-60 runs. As long as I play well, I don’t worry. It will come. It’s just a matter of a good inning and for India’s conditions it should come soon,” Pujara speaks to the virtual press.
India’s Test Team: Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara (Vice Captain), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, R.
