Here’s What AOC and the Left Will Never Admit About Cuba

The recent uprisings in Cuba are of unprecedented scale. They oppose the government massively, nationally and openly. Protesters chanted “Freedom!” “We’re not afraid!” and “Fatherland and Life”, the latter countering the government’s motto of “Fatherland is death.”

“Homeland and life” is derived from a Cuban rap song it was an ideological punch in the gut for the regime: “It’s over! You are 1959, I am 2020,” “Who told you that Cuba belongs to you? “Your time has passed, the silence has been broken!” “And we fear not, the lies are over!”

As of this writing, the communist government has closed off all contact with the outside world.

These are not the first protests against the government. In the past, there have been many smaller protests demanding basic human rights. They were quickly suppressed. The government may not be able to feed the people, repair the infrastructure, or leave the people alone, but they are very good at repression. It is very good at suppressing. That’s what it does best.

In the US, you may not have heard of the human rights movement in Cuba because journalists for decades have advocated and supported the communist regime (exactly what they are doing for the Presidential administration). Biden). For example, American journalists did not cover the story Pure Lady, or Yoani Sánchez or the San Isidro Movement; doing so would make the communist regime look bad.

Now communist sympathizers – who always tell all who will listen that the Cubans have never had it so good – have declared that the lack of Vaccines against covid and the embargo was the root cause of the protests. Very strange; I didn’t hear Cubans chanting, “No embargo! No embargo! ” or “Vaccine! Vaccine!”

Of course, the regime used the embargo to scapegoat for bad policies, and although no Cuban believes it (after all, there are many countries that trade with Cuba), foreign leftists still make excuses. The current dictator blame the embargo, of course.

It can be said clearly: Communism has been a disaster for Cuba, for humanity.

In Cuba, common disease patterns developed: food shortages to the point of starvation, dictatorship, censorship, repression, constant propaganda, no decent consumer goods, rigged elections, alien justifications and incitement dictatorship. Imagine! Cuban sugar, famous for centuries for its abundance is non-existent – and it’s just a food item.

If you’ve ever seen “Moscow on the Hudson,” the movie with Robin Williams, there’s a scene where a new Russian comes to the market to buy some food. First, he asked the line where to get the food. Then, when he saw all the food available, he fainted from shock.

Although it is a comedy, in reality, the film has a solid basis. A Ukrainian friend of mine had a similar experience, and shock seems to be a common reaction. Below is a video of a Cuban exile entering a Western grocery store for the first time and seeing all the food available.

The communist regime has every tool of repression at its disposal. Food and medicine for the people? Not much. Priority, you see.

Tourists sympathetic to the regime – especially Canadians who felt that their visit to Cuba was an act of defiance against the US – were shown the villages and the Potemkin hospital. It doesn’t even matter if they happen to get lost and see reality. They only see what they want to see.

However, Havana used to be called the Paris of the Caribbean. To see what the communists did to the city, just look at the photo at the top of this article.

One final point: Some Cubans have flying stars and stripes next to the Cuban flag during protests in their country.

Four years ago, a lone Cuban interrupted a government parade by flying the American flag; he was sent to a mental institution As punishment. Other cases in Cuba have occurred. The Iranians refuse to insult the American flag as their repressive regime encourages.

The American flag was also flown Hong Kong by the libertarians. Not the Mexican flag. Not the German flag. Not the Swedish flag. Not the French flag. Not the Canadian flag. Not the Egyptian flag. American flag.

But pampered American students, sabotaged by their professors, can’t get it. Meanwhile, the American communists burn the American flag inside the United States and leftist athletes and other celebrities turned their backs on it while singing the national anthem.
