Here’s everything new to HBO Max in December 2021 – and what’s left

HBO Max will end in 2021 at a pivotal moment in the early ’00s, with the return of two iconic series: “The Matrix” and “Sex and the City.”

“Matrix: Revival” (December 22) will be the last film from Warner Bros. Premiering on AT&T’s

HBO Max hits theaters the same day — a pandemic test that won’t continue in 2022. Nearly two decades since the trilogy ended (or so we think), “Resurrections” takes Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss is back with a new chapter in the horror (and intellectual) sci-fi series. It will stream for 31 days, but only to Maximum subscribers on the ad-free tier.

The gang “Sex and the City” (except Kim Cattrall’s Samantha) will reunite with “And just like that…” (December 9), as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) – now in her 50s – navigate their always complicated lives and friendships. The 10-episode revival will premiere with two episodes on the 9th, with new episodes next Thursday.

Max also has “Landscapers” (December 6), a limited series starring Olivia Colman and David Thewlis as a seemingly normal English couple who happen to bury dead bodies in their garden; “Station 11” (December 16), a post-apocalyptic drama series starring Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel as survivors of a devastating pandemic (another!); and the series of reality stripping contests “Finding Magic Mike” (December 16); as well as a host of original documentaries and older films.

Here’s the full list of what’s coming and going in December, as of November 21 (release date subject to change):
