Henry Cavill always chose Yennefer over Triss

When Season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher series was about to release, Henry Cavill shared that he always chose Yennefer over Triss in The Witcher 3.

The often gloomy world of dark fiction series The Witcher filled with morally dubious characters, whose turbulent relationships with those around them have brought the story to a heartbreaking conclusion. However, there are three characters with troubling actions that seem to be especially memorable for fans: Rivia’s Geralt, Vengerberg’s Yennefer, and Triss Merigold. While the tangled love triangle between them takes different forms in different versions of The Witcher, actor Henry Cavill has officially shared his opinion on whether to choose the witch Geralt.

In all versions of The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia is an ancient monster-hunting super-soldier known as a witch while Yennefer and Triss are both witches with a long history. In spite of The WitcherThe main characters are not always good to each other, Yennefer comes in for Geralt when no one else can, while Triss seems to give him a sense of stability that is often missing from his life as a wizard.

According to Henry Cavill, who played Geralt in The Witcher Netflix series, choosing Yennefer seems more true to the core of who Geralt is. This couple’s complicated relationship forms one of the main underpinnings of the entire series as a whole, and the original books include a major question mark as to where they got married. However, Yennefer was mostly absent from the games until The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt forces Geralt to decide exactly what she means to him.

The actor admitted that the good thing about The Witcher the games he’s played during the pandemic, is that they let players decide for themselves. The Witcher The game is rooted in the aftermath of the books, after Geralt and Yennefer narrowly survived the incident that presumably killed them in the original story, but the pair were separated and Geralt suffered from amnesia. Even so, it’s clear that some parts of Geralt still miss Yennefer. If certain selections are made in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt then Yennefer and Geralt will rekindle their romance despite the passage of time and the fact that they are living separate lives.

Triss Merigold also has the potential to develop a strong relationship with Geralt throughout the game, but according to Henry Cavill, he still finds Geralt and Yennefer’s relationship more true to the characters. In the series, Yennefer’s story is explored and her tumultuous relationship with Geralt begins, while new Triss arrives on the scene. Although it remains to be seen exactly where Netflix series will take Yennefer, the emphasis the show has placed on her may be telling.
