(CBSNewYork)- After a 15-year NHL profession, Henrik Lundqvist announced his retirement from the sport on Friday morning at a press convention in Sweden. The Rangers adopted up with an announcement of their very own, congratulating the person referred to as King Henrik on “a unprecedented profession” and saying that they may retire his No. 30 jersey to the rafters of Madison Sq. Backyard.

Henrik’s dedication to excellence made him among the best goaltenders to ever play the sport of hockey, and we’re so lucky to have witnessed his greatness firsthand for 15 years,” the assertion reads. “As we congratulate Henrik on a unprecedented profession and an enduring legacy of success, charity and character, we’re honored to announce that we are going to retire his quantity and lift his jersey to the rafters at an upcoming sport this season.
