‘Hawkeye’ introduces Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Black Widow’s older sister

By this point, you know that Marvel Studios shows can’t go on for a week without skipping over some key revelations that will absolutely keep fans buzzing while they wait for the next episode to come out. Hawk Eye It’s clearly no different—and Episode 4, “Partners, Am I Right?,” includes a reveal that MCU fans have been eagerly anticipating for several months. SPOILERS Our forefathers. You know what to do already!

Ready?

After it was teased this past summer in Black Widow post-credits scene, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) finally comes face to face (well, face mask and afterward face to face) with Hawkeye. For those of you who haven’t seen Black Widow, the film’s post-credits scene depicts Yelena, Natasha’s adopted sister, visiting Avenger’s grave. There, she is recruited by the mysterious Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to track down the man responsible for her sister’s death: Hawkeye. Oh — and also the contessa that caught Yelena’s attention by blowing her nose, which I have to mention since this is the only photo from the post-credits scene that we have in WordPress currently.

That post-credits scene set up a showdown that fans never knew they needed, and then suddenly couldn’t wait to see. This week’s episode of Hawk Eye delivered.

inside Hawk Eye episode, Yelena chooses a rather tense moment to strike. Clint and Kate tracked Clint’s old Rolex (which contains someone’s secret identity, yada yada yada, we can only unravel one mystery at a time) to an apartment — an apartment belonging to the family. about crime boss Maya Lopez / Echo (Alaqua Cox). While Kate argues with Maya in the apartment, Clint across the street throws down a masked attacker on the rooftop.

He assumes that the master in this hand-to-hand combat is Maya Lopez, but he couldn’t be more wrong. After taking a closer look at her fighting style and seeing her weapons in action, especially the gauntlets, he realized that the person was indeed facing a dangerous person. much more dangerous. He is facing a Black Widow assassin.

Of course when he unmasks Yelena, he doesn’t seem to immediately recognize her as not only a Black Widow assassin, but also his best friend’s sister.

Of course that makes sense since it’s possible that Natasha never mentioned that she grew up in secret with a family of Russian super-spies, a family that included a “sister”. Yelena didn’t complete her mission at the moment either. She begins after being revealed, and her appearance proves to be the last straw for Clint. Now that a Black Widow assassin is after him, he immediately cuts Kate’s throat and tells her to forget this whole quest. It suddenly became infinitely more dangerous.

We could also see Kate and Yelena go head-to-head for a brief stint, generally just a brief moment considering that Florence Pugh and Hailee Steinfeld are two of the up-and-coming actors working in Hollywood right now. now… and now they’re in the MCU together. So great!

We certainly didn’t see the last Florence Pugh on Hawk Eye, because Clint had a lot to explain to Yelena. We’ve been waiting a couple of months to see this fight, so we might as well wait another week to see it continue.
