Harry Potter Actor James Snyder Expelled From Broadway Show After Probe

Actor James Snyder was fired from the lead role in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Following allegations of unspecified misconduct by co-star Diane Davis, the producers said on Sunday.
The program did not release details about the nature of the complaint, filed in November. Snyder, 40, has been suspended while an independent investigation is conducted.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, the manufacturers decided Mr. Snyder should not return to production and terminated his contract,” the manufacturer’s statement said.
Davis, who plays Ginny Potter, the wife of adult Harry, “made the personal decision to take a leave of absence,” the producers said.
“We are committed to promoting a safe and inclusive workplace, which is why we have strong workplace policies and procedures for all involved. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” they added.
“This includes strict prohibitions on harassment of any kind, as well as channels through which any employee can report behavior they deem inappropriate. We will continue to do all we can to ensure the incredibly talented team that is bringing this product to life feels safe, empowered, and fully supported. ”
Snyder was first cast as Harry in 2019, but production was halted because of the pandemic. A revamped version of it opened on Broadway last month to rave reviews.
