This week on Heir, the Roys went to Italy to attend their mother’s wedding. Caroline Collingwood, played by the great Harriet Walter, returns to the show to put everyone in a difficult position — especially her only asshole, Shiv (Sarah Snook). Our focus throughout the season is Kendall (Strong Jeremy) and his relationship with patriarch Logan (Brian Cox), but in the middle of an episode that offers a mix of dodgy shots and a potential fusion, Caroline’s conversation with the young girl’s cruelty in Shiv and shedding light on even more the hidden depths of Kendall, Shiv and Roman (Kieran Culkin) turbulent childhood.
“It was a very nervous moment for her,” said Walter VF‘NS Still watching. “She’s actually quite scared of her kids.”
Walter sees the show like the rest of us, so when she joined the cast as Caroline, she came in as an outsider — that’s the energy she uses to fuel the show. his estranged acting. “These guys got along really well. They did it season after season. I go in now and then. And I’ll use that, that I’m a bit lacking in depth with my kids. “
“People hurt each other a lot during this show and hurt a lot of people. I cringed, I watched it from under my chair with a pillow over my head. I want to cry for them all,” Walter added.
Caroline’s presence on screen gives viewers the opportunity to visualize Logan and Caroline’s married family. “You have to remember that there were 13 good years, 10 to 13 years that was a household,” says Walter. “We created these monsters – I think these monsters are much stronger than me. And I was just stepping on the water down there.”
