Hampton & Peninsula Health Counties host weekly, free COVID-19 testing clinics

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton & Peninsula Health Areas will host free weekly COVID-19 testing clinics.

Starting Friday, March 4, local health officials will hold free testing clinics at:

  • Peninsula Health District (416 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601)
  • Hampton Medical District (3130 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA 23661).

Clinics will be held every Friday from 9am to 2pm by appointment only. Health officials say it will only be accepted when there are existing vacancies.

Pedestrians will be denied or experience extended wait times if an appointment is not available.

Officials said the testing clinics are to meet increased testing demand combined with the limited number of testing options in the community.

Trials are available from ages 5 and up while supplies last. To make an appointment, call 757-594-8482.

Virginians who are not fully vaccinated, or eligible for booster doses, can visit vaccinations.virginia.gov or call 1-877-VAX-IN-VA (877) 829-4682 to find immunization clinics nearby.

People who want to find or book an appointment for a test can access average.vdh.virginia.gov/testingappointment.
