Halo Infinite Season 2 King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing Multiplayer Modes Explained

With Halo Infinite Season 2 Coming in about two weeks on May 3, developer 343 Industries has decided to explain in much more detail the three multiplayer modes in the upcoming installment called “Lone Wolves”: King of the Hill, Land Grab and Last Spartan Standing. Halo Infinite fans have been clamoring for more in-game content and more developer transparency, so 343 Industries hopes that further research into these new game types will better communicate future changes to the community.

What are the rules for Halo Infinite Season 2 King of the Hill, Land Grab and Last Spartan Standing?

Through a Halo Waypoint Q&A blog post with Zach Boyce, the multiplayer and system designer for Halo Infinite, 343 Industries describes how King of the Hill, Land Grab and Last Spartan.

King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing will debut at the beginning of Season 2, with Last Spartan Standing being the first Seasonal Event. Land Grab will then launch a month into the season during the Fracture: Entrenched event, after which the mode will be available for players to experience throughout the Season. If these modes are well received by the community, they will be included in the regular playlist rotation.

For the return of King of the Hill mode, the developers decided to tweak how hills appear on the map and how scoring works. Players entering a hill without being checked will build a capture meter for their team, and when the meter is full, the team will score a point and the hill will instantly spawn somewhere else on the map .

Last Spartan Building is inspired solely by Battle Royale modes, with 12 players fighting for free on the Big Team Battle map (in this case, the new Breaker map) with a limited download and only five spins revival. To discourage players from camping and storing respawn time, Spartans can level up by building up their Personal Points primarily through kills and assists. Then, similar to the rules of Escalation Slayer, each level up the player earns an upgrade to their weapon, giving them a better chance of being the last one left at the end of the game. fight.

Going back to the Territory game type from Halo 2 and 3, Land Grab has more frenetic pace as teams try to capture neutral areas of the map to be the first to score 11 points. Three neutral zones will spawn at the start of the game, and capturing one will lock it up and score the team a point. Once all neutral zones are occupied, three additional zones will appear, forcing team members to strategically coordinate their movements. To make the Land Grab matches even more controversial near the end, only two neutral zones will appear if a team is one point away from winning. If both teams are one point away from winning, then only a neutral zone will appear.

In other news, a new Tales From the Borderlands game was announced at PAX East, and a Nintendo Switch Online trial for Dragon Quest Builders 2 is now running and will run until April 26.
