Halo Infinite PS4 and Switch Release Date: Will it come to Sony and Nintendo consoles?

Fans are hoping that Halo Infinite will come to PS4 or Switch. If this does materialize, the release date will of course be after the game launches on PC and Xbox, but is there any chance of that happening? We will look at the opportunity for Halo Infinite to release on PlayStation or Nintendo console.

Halo Infinite will have a PS4 release date?

Halo Infinite PS4 Switch Nintendo Sony Release Date

Chance to release Halo Infinite on PS4 or PS5 only slightly larger than zero. Halo’s developer, 343 Industries, is Microsoft’s first-party development studio, and it’s one of Xbox’s most valuable assets. Given that Microsoft sees Sony as its direct competitor, porting Halo Infinite to PS4 or PS5 would be an extremely poor business decision.

Halo will never come to any platform other than PC and Xbox as long as Microsoft owns 343 Industries. Even if 343 Industries had split up to form an independent studio like Bungie did, Microsoft would still keep Halo IP.

Halo coming to Nintendo Switch?

Halo Infinite’s chances of getting a release date on Nintendo Switch are just as poor as it is on PlayStation. However, while it may not have a direct port, there is still a chance that users could end up playing it on the Switch. In fact, hacked Switches were able to do so.

Since Switch OS is based on Android, the Xbox Cloud Gaming app (formerly Project xCloud) works well. Users have reported that after installing a custom version of Android on a hacked Switch, they were able to install apps and play without any issues. Microsoft will almost certainly release an official Xbox Cloud Gaming app for the Switch, if given the chance. However, Nintendo has been tight-lipped about releasing any apps for the console and is still missing some apps that even the 3DS and Wii U have.
