Player reported Halo Infinite Complaint “targeting feels weird” since closed betas, from users of both mouse and keyboard on PC and controller on Xbox console. The lag issue when targeting Halo Infinite is really annoying, especially when players report that it doesn’t appear in the game. Halo Master Chief Collection, but what is causing the problem? Is there a way to prevent Halo Infinite from mistargeting?
How to fix Halo Infinite target lag issues
To fix the lag when aiming at Halo Infinite on PC, players should:
- Open Nvidia control panel and Manage 3D Settings, then add or find Halo Infinite in Program Settings and set Low Latency Mode to Ultra. Also update Nvidia to the latest graphics drivers with Halo Infinite support.
- For Radeon users, install specific Halo Infinite Highlights driver for use with multiplayer.
- Set min FPS to 120 and max to 300, or disable min/max completely.
The issue where targeting feels weird or off on PC in Halo Infinite seems to be due to Microsoft’s decision to force fullscreen borderless instead of proprietary fullscreen. The problem is that a small amount of aiming assist or lag seems to occur when aiming, maybe just a few pixels but that means players can have a hard time making small adjustments when targeting. Hopefully Microsoft will reasonably fix the issue with a patch before Halo Infinite goes live next month.
