The current court system infrastructure, including prosecutors, defenders, and judicial authorities, is not capable of adapting to a post-pandemic world that is heavily focused on technology. When the pandemic broke out in March 2020, prosecutors made trips to buy personal laptops so they could continue their work. That is unacceptable in today’s rapidly evolving technology environment. Justice requires the system to be at its best, and without the right technology, capacity or infrastructure, that may not be possible.
