Guardians Of The Galaxy Could Be Marvel’s First True Trilogy

When this month ends, Spider-Man: There’s no way home will make Spider-Man the fifth Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) property to have at least three movies made about them. To date, there have been three movies about Iron Man, Captain America and Thor respectively. There are also four Avengers movies. It’s only a matter of time until other Marvel properties achieve the perfect trilogy.
Guardians of the Galaxy is a flexible crew of space dwellers who, with their group, will announce their participation in the MCU trilogy in the spring of 2023. The emerging group of adventurers makes their first appearance. on screen in 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, bringing them from relative unknowns to A-listers in the hearts of the public.
While other Marvel productions have had three or more films of the same name, Guardians of the Galaxy is the first MCU title to feel like a true trilogy. This is due to the director continuity, the equipping process, and the possible disbandment of the current Guardians, etc.
Iron Man 3, conversion from Captain America: The First Avenger arrive Captain America: Winter Soldier, and the entire Thor trilogy are great examples of what happens when a single director doesn’t move on through a series. Iron Man 3 was a disappointment to follow Iron Man and The Avengers, a complete waste of Iron Man’s greatest enemy. Captain America: The First Avenger is a rather confusing film, and without some of the more confusing moments that make the next two Captain America films so memorable. Finally, the Thor series has inconsistent tones, going from the serious to the absurd and humorous.
Unlike some of the mistakes mentioned earlier, director James Gunn brought a unique and consistent flavor to the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films. Their signature is bright neon colors, seamless humor, and flawless music throughout.
Only Spider-Man will have the same director for three consecutive films aside from Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn’s direction is almost allegiance to Guardians of the Galaxy comics run while at the same time making the movies their own beautiful beasts. The Guardians of the Galaxy movies all have his scent, and he deserves credit for bringing this formerly enigmatic team out into the limelight.
Recently, Gunn stated that the 2023 movie is most likely his last work Project Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition, the famous director said that this could very well be the last film with the current Guardians of the Galaxy makeup style.
If this is indeed the last time audiences will see Star Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, Drax, Rocket Racoon and Mantis together it will be bittersweet. However, viewers will have to go through 9 years and 5 movies with a powerful team that they probably didn’t know about before 2014. Sometimes, people don’t know what’s there until it’s gone.
Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man all have their trio intertwined in the Avengers movies. This has created some tonal inconsistencies and confusion in the MCU. In Thor: Dark World and Iron Man 3, the prominent superheroes of the MCU who fought together in the events of The Avengers. However, no other Avengers appear to help Thor or Iron Man in their respective movies, despite the possible consequences to the world in the movies.
The latter two Captain America movies feature other Avengers, making them feel more like a collaboration movie more than Captain America’s solo adventures. They’re great movies, but feel more like Avengers 1.5 and Avengers 2.5 than anything else. The first two Spider-Man movies are relatively fun and family-friendly. However, two brooding, dark space epic Avengers movies happened in between Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Although the Avengers movies that take place between the Guardians films have a darker tone, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame works well for space constrained group. After all, the Guardians and the Russo brothers’ Avengers are both space epics. The Avengers’ arch-nemesis, Thanos even made his first appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy before he was introduced to his full glory and power in Avengers: Infinity War.
Furthermore, there are Guardians of the Galaxy Appears in Bigger Avengers Movies doesn’t dilute the arc or journey of a team character as much as it does for other MCU characters. This is because Guardians of the Galaxy was introduced as a team with two films under it before they appeared in Avengers: Infinity War.
The characters that make up Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced in 2014 and remain a cohesive team through the events of 2019 Avengers: Endgame. If the group really disbands, dies, or disbands in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it will be the clearest-origin epilogue that Marvel Studios has come up with to date.
Iron Man’s trilogy ended in 2013, but the character died on screen in 2019. While his journey is so satisfying, it’s still dragging on making his story feel a bit sporadic. The character has appeared in more MCU movies after his trilogy than he did in his trilogy, which is somewhat of a bad thing in terms of studio planning.
Thor’s story has an inconsistent tone, and he’s even able to deliver Thor’s cape in upcoming movie Thor: Love and Thunder. Arguably the most valuable Avenger, Thor has had a great journey in the MCU, but not the cleanest one.
Captain America’s journey also ends in Avengers: Endgame. However, Steve Rogers passed the Captain America hat to Sam Wilson, formerly Falcon. Technically, the character’s journey continues, in the form of another man. More, Captain America: Civil War there are so many superheroes in it that the movie really feels like Avengers 2.5. Captain America has been the heart of the MCU since 2011, but his movie collaborations and the fact that the cape has been moved over unsettles his trilogy.
Finally, there’s Spider-Man. The Wall Crawler was introduced to the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. During the events of the first solo Spider-Man movie in the MCU, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Iron Man is his mentor, and much more seasoned than Spider-Man in high school. However, between the Spider-Man films, he was killed by Thanos, only to reappear five years later with half the universe back. These details in the story of Spider-Man makes his trio feel so intertwined and even believable about other events and characters in the MCU.
If Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 really the last time the audience saw this team on the silver screen, it had to be a beautiful and heartfelt farewell. James Gunn and company will leave Marvel with a blueprint to follow for the upcoming trilogy.
