Growing memorial to cyclist who was killed in downtown Vancouver – BC

A cyclist who died in a crash in Yaletown earlier this week has been identified as a UBC business student.
A memorial to Agustín Beltrán is growing on Pacific Boulevard and Hornby Street.

The 28-year-old Vancouver School of Economics student died Wednesday when police said he was involved in a collision with a dump truck at the intersection’s crosswalk.
Friends and family of Beltrán held a vigil at the scene of the crime on Thursday evening.

UBC officials said they were devastated by Beltrán’s death.
“We are shocked and devastated by Agustín’s death. This is a tremendous loss to the UBC community and our closely associated Ph.D. program,” UBC employees wrote in a press release.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Agustín’s family, friends and colleagues. We share their sorrow today and in the days to come.”
