Great Jones Dutchess review

When it comes to cooking, let’s just say some middle school students probably have more skills than me. As I’m getting married soon (and trying to actually grow up), I’ve been trying pretty hard in the kitchen, and learning how to use the right tools and cookware has been an important step in that journey. Being the very visual person that I am, seeing something pretty inspires me – and Great Jones’ stunning Dutchess Dutch Oven (the small version) inspired me to muster up the courage to make one of my favorite dishes for my fiancé: potato gratin .

I admit, when I was offered a sample of Great Jones, it was the Dutch woman’s beauty that drew me. I couldn’t wait to display the pretty one in pink (it comes in a ton of other cute color combinations too) in my otherwise drab kitchen. Oh, and you can also have it engraved for an additional $40, making it the perfect gift for almost any occasion.

Good Jones The Dutchess Dutch Oven

I was surprised at how heavy the Dutchess is – she weighs around 15 pounds – but the durability and high quality are evident just by looking at her. It features an enamel coating that helps distribute heat evenly and makes cleaning so easy. After we finished our potato au gratin, I expected a tedious post-dinner cleaning session, but even the baked cheese immediately slipped off.

“I love my new green Dutch lady! Really a new statement piece in my kitchen! In fact, I threw a dinner party JUST so I could take advantage of it and it was a hit… the food and the beautiful Dutch lady that was served to the table!” wrote one enthusiastic reviewer. I have to agree with them too – I never thought I’d be someone to throw a dinner party of any size or scale, but I can’t wait to show off my Dutch!
