Granblue VAs hyped after FFXI Collab Reveal on 8th Anniversary stream

Granblue fantasyone of the most popular mobile RPGs, is hosting a crossover collab event soon FFXIpredecessor of Final Fantasy XIV.

Granblue fantasy held its 8th anniversary stream on March 6, 2022, during which several announcements were made. Most of the game’s fans and regulars watched the live stream for themselves, but one particularly big announcement came at FF11 Collab event coming soon.

Granblue Fantasy and FFXI collab event announced

The collab crossover in Granblue fantasy happening to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI. The MMORPG celebrates this iconic milestone on May 16, 2022.

Expected event release date and teaser trailer

The collab event will start sometime in May 2022. A short teaser trailer was unveiled during the Granblue 8th Anniversary Live Stream. More details will be announced in May ahead of launch. You can watch the short teaser trailer for the collaboration at time 4:03:53 of the live stream:

Several Granblue Fantasy voice actors are big players of Final Fantasy XI

Some of the seiyuu at the event, notably Emiri Kato (Sierokarte, Halluel & Malluel, among others) and Asami Imai (Vira), were overjoyed at the announcement that they are huge FF11 fans. You can see their reaction in the timestamp linked above, right after the teaser.

Emiri Kato streams regularly FF11 also with new characters on her YouTube channel, and she is sometimes joined by friends like Asami Imai.

Another popular seiyuu in Granblue fantasyYuichi Nakamura (Romeo, Tsubasa), is a huge one FF11 Player, so the collaboration is very iconic for both of them Granblue and Seiyuu fans. Yuichi Nakamura’s Twitter handle is literal @NakamuraFF11and he’ll definitely be reacting to the news soon as he wasn’t on the 8th anniversary livestream.

Why was there no relink news on the Granblue Fantasy 8th Anniversary stream?

Cygames has already mentioned several times that there will be more news about the console game some time after this 8th anniversary stream.
