Gran Turismo 7 remains number 1 in the UK sales charts

Gran Turismo 7 has managed to stay at the top of the UK Top 40 Boxed Games Chart for the third week in a row. The racer has managed to beat the likes of Elden Ring and WWE 2K22 to remain at number one, although those numbers don’t include digital sales and only consider physical copies purchased at retail locations.

Sony’s new racing game has now topped the UK charts on PS5 and PS4 for three weeks. WW2 2K22 fell from second to third place, while Elden Ring reclaimed second place it lost last week. Nintendo had a strong week with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury following the top 3. Accordingly UkiHorizon Forbidden West, Strange of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach rounded out the top 10.

Gran Turismo 7 has had a pretty rough time since launch earlier this month. After plenty of fan feedback and criticism, some users have started reviewing the game on Metacritic. Despite a high critic score and positive reviews, the user review has received thousands of negative submissions. This brought the rating down to 2/10 and put them firmly in the red, with the most comments This suggests that the negative reviews are due to the limited offline mode and microtransactions. Still, it doesn’t seem to have affected the number of people who buy the game, judging by its position on the charts.

In other racing news, several Mario Kart 8 DLC tracks have been leaked online, while Xbox users who are Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get the chance to play the highly anticipated Halo TV series with a free Paramount Plus trial as a free perk to watch.
