That “coercion” part is important. A lot of people are in the camp of Lusk, who think that no business government interferes with people’s diets, and that we are all quite capable of deciding for ourselves what to eat, thank you very much. I am a libertarian to sympathize with that view, but I am more of a pragmatist than an ideologue. If the government can make a difference, I think the problem is serious enough to do.
