GOTY Contenders Early ‘Horizon Forbidden West’ Goes Gold


The past weeks haven’t been so kind to Sony after Microsoft announces acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but PlayStation is now officially ready to ramp up the market again through its amazing line of exclusives. The first of these will be Forbidden Horizon in the WestThe highly-anticipated new-generation mid-gen sequel Horizon Zero DawnAccording to developer Guerilla Games, just hit gold.
That’s right, guys. The official Guerilla Games Twitter account just announced that their new title has gone gold, which means Forbidden Horizon in the West is now fully playable, ready to be uploaded to a server or burned to disc. To celebrate this milestone, the studio has also released a short teaser that shows a character in the game, aptly tinted with gold.
All PlayStation fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as a game hitting gold pretty much implies that there won’t be any further delays. Forbidden Horizon in the West After all, it was supposed to launch in 2021, but complications due to the Covid-19 pandemic forced Guerilla to push the game’s release date.

We still don’t know if the sequel will also get patches someday – as was the case with many titles at launch – along with a whopping 85GB download size, but if Guerilla notices any Any technical issues with the game from here on out, they’ll definitely want to get this resolved ASAP.
Forbidden Horizon in the West will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18.
